Food at Les Deux Chevres
We take food very seriously. Our breakfasts have been described as 'the best in France'. All the produce (apart from the croissants!) is organic. A wide selection of fresh seasonal fruit, brought when possible from local orchards and market gardens. Cheeses and artisan saucisson from Dijon market, a selection of artisanal breads, including organic wholemeal and sourdough, yoghourts, and eggs cooked to order. We also serve an extensive collection of organic green and black teas, and organic freshly ground Arabica coffee. During summer months, breakfast is on the terrace overlooking the vineyards.
We serve light meals from midday until 19.00. All the produce is fresh from Dijon market, cheeses, saucisson, and salads. Snails are from Jean Mathie, who owns a snail farm to the north of Dijon - they are simply the best snails we have found.
With adequate notice, we can organise a private chef, for lunches and dinners. With a large open kitchen, aperitifs can be taken while watching the action. The event can start with a short lesson in cooking the local speciality, Gougeres, which are truly excellent straight from the oven, with a glass of chilled local white wine. C'est parfait!
There are two good restaurants in the village of Gevrey Chambertin, within a short walk of Les Deux Chevres. There are other restaurants in the surrounding villages, some of which operate a 'call and collect' service from Les Deux Chevres. More information about restaurants can be found on our site blog.theburgundyshop.com . We are happy to help making reservations.
